Out from Crewe to Nottingham via Derby - how times have changed at Derby :(
Some helpful end of platform fellas told me the correct bus for Toton and spent some time on the hill. Found out the tripod I bought in Oz was only 2 foot high so played in the mud getting set shots.
Met a great photter who had spent some time in Melbourne and together we went to the canal side. He then gave me a lift to Derby.
Spent some time at Doncaster then off to Barnetby and Immingham overnight (too dark for phots).

Spent a busy day walking, using my BritPass and taking the bus.
Highly enjoyable from the friendly waves at Basford Hall to the chat with the end of platform photters at Warrington waiting for the Dyson to come thru - was 013. Had a 90 minute wait at TY for a unit back to BNS so didnt get back to Crewe until midnight.

Spent some time with the preservation guys at Old Oak Common and then headed off to Crewe where I saw my first bodysnatcher having the usual problems linking up with a pendo.

My first day of my 2005 UK Trip out photting.
Found out the hard way that the walk from the ASDA to Temple Mills is not 5 minutes as some bright spark mentioned on Trainsposts and LocoScene!
Saw my 1st ever Classes 59 & 66's.
Also spent some time at Stratford feeling sorry for myself looking at the old depot and works which I must have been around 50 times in the 70's and early 80's but got some reasonable freight and Norwich Can and Skoda shots.
